How You Can Help

The initiative is right now an idea with a will seeking a way. The way can under the circumstances only be external funding, which will be in the form of individual donations from the public and organizations. This is to say, in no uncertain terms, that this initiative shall only be set in motion when sufficient funds are available from the above mentioned sources for the required materials to be purchased or built, for the assembly of the team that will write the very first exercise books the first pupils will use for their very first lessons. This is when we can make a constitution and get registered with the authorities.

The Pathe Diagne Initiative is going to be funded and run by the grassroots of the masses of Africa. We are stressing this because we want it understood that we can no longer put ventures of such importance to our well-being, as indeed survival, into the care of our African governments in their current state. It is from the global African community that we should draw the sustenance, support and dedication that will ensure that initiatives of this nature succeed. The only other option apart from this is to have this venture funded privately, which is out of the question now due to circumstances beyond our control.

You can help in cash and kind

With this in mind we ask you, members of our community, to assist us in cash and kind, as much as you can, for the duration or, shall I say, for as long as it will take to kick this off and have it running on its own steam.

We are asking you to get philanthropists in our community that support causes like ours to be alerted to our initiative and invited to help us get off the ground in any way that they can.
Crowd Funding initiatives are welcome.

An Overview of the Expected Expenses

Funds will have to be raised for the school to be built, or the premises reserved, which will have to happen before the team of skilled linguists and grammarians is assembled.

As soon as the team is sure we have the material to take the pupils to the completion of the first school year, the enrolment can begin.

The team will initially be working part time for us. It is to hope that we can get some to work pro bono. Only when funding is sufficient can we expect to put them all on salaries.

The team members will thus all be on a salary once we have sufficient funding. They can work from home initially, but we need to have them located near or at the school premises where they can observe lessons, chart and assess the progress of the children, and other activities that are necessary for the initiative. For this, accommodation will have to be made available for them near or inside the school premises. This will require funding.

With enough money to go around, a qualified team member, or a trained teacher can be hired and given short courses in giving lessons in the local language of choice. The teacher may also need to be housed on the premises.

Be aware that a successful first year with results to showcase will make it easy to take this initiative across the entire African continent. Nobody can reject a good thing once they have seen it.
